Class Descriptions

SATURDAY CLASSES grades 6-12

All classes are vegetarian or vegan. There are allergens in the space and in some classes so if you have a serious food allergy, please contact us before registering. In Fun with Food we experiment, taste, smell, assemble, cut, cook and play with food. We learn about healthy eating habits, food appreciation, health benefits, food availability, we incorporate math+science+art, kitchen safety, sanitation and lots more! Classes are limited to 10 students.

Cost: $25 per class

Time: 11:30am-1pm Teens, grades 6-12

January 25 PANCAKES (not your regular pancakes)

March 7 SQUASH (seriously? yup. dessert squash?)

March 14 GREEN FOODS (there is no broccoli in this one)

March 28 EVERYTHING IS BANANAS! (ice cream sundaes?)

April 18 SPRING SALADS (local, fresh, beautiful, nutritious)

May 2 SMOOTHIES (I can't even taste that frozen cauliflower!)

May 9 UNUSUAL FRUIT (these aren't apples)

Chef Sue and local artist and author, Catherine Bergman, will lead a unique sensory experience, combining food and art. You will be guided through an appreciative and mindful food tasting, and then prompted to creatively express your experience through art. Explore the connection between food and your mind, body and spirit.

*This is not a cooking class

We will experiment, taste, smell, assemble, cut, cook and play with food. We will also learn about healthy eating habits, food appreciation (health benefits, availability and beauty), we will incorporate math+science+art, kitchen safety, sanitation and lots more! Food is Vegan/Vegetarian. 

 

Monday - Friday

9am-4pm for ages 6-11

Non member(program member) price is $310*

  *Non members need to pay a one time $40 fee
